About Auberge Mendocino

la Maison - Auberge MendocinoIn 1983, Rachel Binah purchased a very run-down 1868 Mendocino Farmhouse with the goal of turning it into a Bed and Breakfast Inn.  Two years later she opened “Rachel’s Inn” which launched two decades of outstanding guest services.  In June 2003, Richard Grabow purchased Rachel’s Inn, changed the name to Auberge Mendocino and continued to build on the solid foundation of 20 years of renowned hospitality.

In July 2004, Rich and Kathy Carpenito, two native New Yorkers, came to the Mendocino coast in search of a lifestyle change.  Their idea was to own and operate a Bed and Breakfast Inn in northern California.  During their visit to the area, they were immediately drawn to the rugged coast by its abundant natural beauty.  They were searching for the right destination vacation getaway and found it in Little River, CA.

Over the years, Auberge has added up-to-date amenities, provided unparallel service to their guests through an exceptionally attentive staff, pampered their guests’ palate with lavish breakfasts and home-made desserts.  As part of the Inns amenities, Auberge Mendocino offers the public areas of the Inn as a revolving art gallery for local artists.

The owners and staff at Auberge Mendocino are thoroughly committed to achieving a unique experience for each guest by making the Auberge Mendocino the perfect place to visit, relax and unwind.

Rich, Kathy and staff are committed to maintaining the purity and natural beauty of the Mendocino Coast.  Next to Auberge Mendocino there is a path to the headlands.

We are so very blessed to be here in this place, at a time when trouble swirls around in many parts of the world and even our own country.

We look forward to meeting all of our guests that come from all walks of life and sharing with them our special Mendocino experiences.
